The Automated Drive Series: Webinar & Virtual Demo
This complimentary webinar and virtual demonstration is centered on VSI’s upcoming Automated Drive Series. Speakers Phil Magney and Matt Linder discuss the launch of VSI’s Automated Driving Series, real-world ADAS/AV testing, and VSI’s remote telemetry tracking site. They also talk about the importance of data collection, and decompose VSI’s ADAS/AV hardware & software stack.
The Road to L2+ Automation
Building a vehicle for the test and development of ADAS and automated driving is a hugely complex endeavor and requires careful planning. VSI Founder & President Phil Magney covers all considerations, like choosing a base vehicle platform, building a domain controller, selecting an initial sensor package, and more. Magney also explores some of the overlooked elements such as liability insurance, and what you must do to limit your exposure. We recommend this session for anyone involved in building a vehicle for the test and development of ADAS and automated driving.
OEM ADAS Roundup 2020
In the OEM Roundup 2019, VSI reported that the hype surrounding automation was leading to renewed interest in L2 automation and consumer ADAS systems. Since then, automotive OEMs have pushed hard to debut new and improved L2+ ADAS systems utilizing improved software algorithms, additional sensors, and more scalable platforms. A few OEMs seem to be interested in demonstrating L3 reliability in their new systems, while most others are enhancing features of their L2+ systems. This complimentary webinar will investigate the latest trends in OEMs’ consumer ADAS systems as we look further into 2020.
Across the USA with RT3000
Last year, VSI Labs drove west from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Santa Clara, California, in an automated development vehicle to test the performance and safety of highway autonomous driving provided by enhanced INS/GNSS capability (using an OxTS RT3000) and precision lanes model applications. This expedition tested how these technologies operated across a wide variety of terrains, weather, and driving conditions. In their first guest webinar, Edward Levack, OxTS Product Manager, speaks with Sara Sargent, Engineering Project Manager at VSI Labs, about her experiences using the RT3000 during the 2000-mile road trip to understand why she was so impressed with its performance.
Automated Drive East: Using Trimble RTX for Highway Autopilot Driving
In September 2019, VSI Labs conducted a cross-country drive in their automated testing vehicle with partners Trimble and HERE Technologies. The Automated Drive East spanned nearly 1,000 miles of roads from Minneapolis to Washington DC. In this webinar, engineering leads from VSI and Trimble will discuss the technology used for the drive, the preparations required, and the performance of the AV applications on the trip.
